Holographic Telepresence Technology
Real-time 3D remote communication technology that transforms collaboration, training, and customer experiences with AR/VR communication technologies.
HoloBeam is a groundbreaking holographic telepresence technology developed at Valorem Reply. This real-time 3D remote communication technology leads the way for AR/VR transformed collaboration, training, customer experiences and other vital business aspects in today's modern workplace.
HoloBeam makes it possible to remotely communicate with colleagues using 3D depth, motion, full colour, holographic video and a standard internet connection from anywhere in the world, in real-time, and without any delays.
HoloBeam builds on top of an adapted WebRTC implementation that uses customised depth encoding to send 3D volumetric video via a normal internet connection requiring only 3–5 Mbits/sec bitrate. The technology even works below 1 Mbit thanks to adaptive depth encoding and streaming.
The solution enables real-time, multi-party holographic conferencing without delay and works behind firewalls for corporate network settings.
Most of the HoloBeam core codebase is written in C++ but the frontend and custom point cloud rendering shader are developed with Unity 3D for cross-platform development experience supporting HoloLens, Immersive Windows Mixed Reality devices, and OpenVR like HTC Vive.
Microsoft executives leveraged Valorem's HoloBeam technology in the opening keynote presentation at Microsoft Ignite 2018 to showcase the "not so distant" future of meetings to thousands of IT implementers, enterprise developers, and data professionals from around the world.
"Private companies are also making impressive progress with 3D volumetric conferencing using both VR and AR, notably, Valorem, whose system enables multiple participants in Europe, India and North America to be volumetrically present in the users' physical office in real time."
